Playing live on local radio is a weird experience. Potentially you are playing to an audience far bigger than anything you have previously. Yet, whereas you can play in some dingy pub to a handful of people and spend an hour or so getting your sound ‘right’, on the day we played this song we were walked into the studio half way through the proceeding song and told that shortly the ‘red light’ will go on and we’ll be live on air! Quite nerve wracking really. No soundcheck - just us round a small table in front of two mics. You can hear that the first 30 seconds or so are a bit shaky. Talking of shaky, the sound on this recording is a bit wavy due to Andy’s special festive tambourine (it may not look like it, but he is playing it in the video, not just playing with himself 
). Infact the DJ became a bit enamoured with the tambourine, and insisted on Andy using it during the ‘round table music review’ to represent a good song.
